About Truth Be Told NOLA

WELCOME to Truth Be Told NOLA


In an attempt to let the truth be told about race and racism in New Orleans, we are embarking on a process for community theater that uses STORY CIRCLES and PLAYBACK THEATRE to capture and share black and white experiences with race and racism in New Orleans. By telling our stories and playing them back through an improvisational theatre process, we hope to increase the practice of cross-race dialogue on race and racism in New Orleans.

The dialog process will be the foundation for the commissioning of four original performance works and their production at two partnering performance venues: Ashé Cultural Arts Center and the Contemporary Arts Center. Each performance will be followed by an audience discussion.
